Ayurveda in British Period

In the first two decades of the 19th century Ayurveda was taught in a traditional way. The British rulers did not bother much as the British East India Company employed their English doctors. They remained indifferent towards the health and physical condition of the Indians. The British hospitals employed few Indians as ‘subordinate health-workers.’
